Introduction

What is this?

This is a database of the players and guilds of the Zebuxoruk server. It is a sister site of the Rallos Zek player and guild database, run by Dan Stephans, and uses a modified version of his original code. I also run a database for The Tribunal.

How did I get this data?

The data here is obtained from player-submitted log files.

How can I correct or add information?

Since this database contains information from /who listings in logfiles, the only way to correct or add data is to submit logfiles to the project.

Please send me any Zebuxoruk logs you have - you can mail them to me here.

If you are not comfortable sending your entire unedited log file to me, you can download one of the preparse apps listed below. These will run through your logs and parse out just the /who and /guildstatus information, leaving out your private guildchat and tells, etc.

Guidelines for submissions

Please do a quick check to see if the timestamps in your logfiles are reasonably correct - in the past we've had submissions where the person's clock was totally wrong, creating major inconsistencies in the database.

Please try and avoid opening the logfiles in word processor or text editor that will do linewrapping. A good guideline is to open the file in one of these editors if you want to check it - but DON'T save it. Send me either the log as EQ left it, or the processed output of one of the parsers directly. If lines get wrapped, truncated guildnames can appear in the database.

Log parsers

log_preparse.pl
- This is a Perl script which strips out the /who and /guildstatus information from your logs, leaving your private data alone.
EQLogFilter
- This is a Windows app, written by Kai Marttila, that will do the same job as the Perl script above.

09/09/04: 4,062 new characters today and 14 new guilds.

08/23/04: 548 new characters and 5 new guilds in today's update.

08/20/04: After a long hiatus, a very large update today which incorporates all the logs I have received since March. 19,292 new characters today, and 457 new guilds.
As ever, if you see inconsistencies in the database, please let me know and I'll do my best to correct them.

03/01/04: 404 new characters and 3 new guilds today.

02/24/04: 1,086 new characters and 17 new guilds today.

02/18/04: 518 new characters today. Thanks to the repeat contributors, and keep the logs coming - particularly the older logs from 2001-2002.

02/17/04: 4,081 new characters and no new guilds today.

02/13/04: 2,120 new characters and 113 new guilds today.

02/11/04: 3,105 new characters and 3 new guilds today.

02/10/04: 11,404 new characters and 78 new guilds today. Thanks to all the contributors, and especially the repeat contributors!

02/09/04: 15,421 new characters and 167 new guilds today. Keep the updates coming - please make sure they contain Zebuxoruk information only. I've received a couple of logs that contain information from The Rathe, which I can't use.
